Envision Durham has been approved by the province and this official plan lays out the plans to develop and build over the next few decades. This plan has also given the Region of Durham the outline for what infrastructure will be needed to facilitate this development.

Region of Durham
Nathaniel Andres is a Project Engineer with the Regional Municipality of Durham, specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure planning. With over 15 years of experience in municipal engineering, Nathaniel leads projects that shape the region’s long-term growth, including Class Environmental Assessments, master plans, and strategies to improve system efficiency and resilience. Prior to joining the Region in 2017, he spent nearly a decade managing complex infrastructure projects at R.V. Anderson Associates. Nathaniel is passionate about sustainable development and ensuring that critical services keep pace with Durham’s expanding communities.

Mark Prociw is Manager of Mass Market Business Strategy at Enbridge Gas, where he leads strategic planning for residential markets and oversees initiatives that support customer growth and sustainability. With extensive experience in energy sales and account management, Mark has held key leadership roles driving innovation and collaboration across marketing, regulatory, and service teams. He is deeply committed to advancing clean energy solutions, including renewable natural gas and hydrogen, and works to align Enbridge’s offerings with Canada’s evolving energy landscape. Through his leadership, Mark helps shape the future of energy infrastructure, ensuring communities have access to reliable and sustainable solutions.
Janet Canale
Hydro One

SPEAKER
Janet Canale brings over 32 years of experience in the electricity sector, supported by her formal education as an Electrical Engineer completed outside of Canada. Her career includes 13 years of international experience and 19 years with Hydro One, beginning in subdivision design and evolving through several field and operational roles that strengthened her understanding of system performance and customer needs. Janet later advanced into Asset Management- Distribution Planning, where she focused on lifecycle planning, risk-based prioritization, and strategic infrastructure decision making across diverse and growing service areas.

For the past 9 years, Janet has served as a Network Management Officer, specializing in Distribution and network planning for the Bowmanville, Peterborough, and Minden areas. She leads major development initiatives—such as new station projects, capacity expansion, and system reliability improvements—ensuring the network is equipped to support both current demand and future growth. Known for her collaborative leadership and her rare end-to-end perspective spanning design, field operations, and strategic planning, Janet brings technical depth, operational insight, and a strong commitment to building reliable, resilient electrical infrastructure for the communities she serves.

Trevor Mackenzie
Tribute Communities
With 25 years of experience in land development and engineering, Trevor is a highly skilled Architectural Technician, Certified through OACETT (C. Tech). Over the course of his career, he has successfully led a diverse team of up to 13 land development professionals, overseeing both short- and long-term projects. A proven leader in the field, Trevor has played a key role in bringing over 3,000 residential and commercial units into construction, demonstrating expertise in project management, team coordination, and technical design. With a deep commitment to excellence, he continues to drive the successful development of complex land projects from conception to completion.

Charlotte Pattee
Fieldgate
Charlotte Pattee is a Development Manager at Fieldgate Developments.  In this role, Charlotte is responsible for a broad portfolio of large-scale residential and commercial development projects. Prior to joining Fieldgate in March 2025, Charlotte spent 6 years with the Region of Durham where she was the Development Approvals Engineer.  In this role, she oversaw the Development Approvals team and was also responsible for the implementation of the Development Charge program and priority projects. She also has significant experience in a variety of roles specializing in right-of-way management at the Region of Durham and municipal infrastructure design as an engineering consultant. Charlotte holds a degree in Engineering and Applied Science from Queens University and is a Professional Engineer.
